London is Most Vegetarian-Friendly City
For a country not known so much for its cuisine, England's big bright spot that is London has one more accolade to add to its allure: PETA has named it the Most Vegetarian-Friendly City in the world.
In the world! That's quite a title.
PETA chose London after considering "the city's numerous vegetarian restaurants but also the massive variety of meatless ethnic cuisine and the fact that grocery stores and even steak houses in the city promote the mushrooming number of vegan options by indicating them with a green "V" on menus and labels," according to their Web site.
And, did you know that cheery (foggy?) London-town's first Vegetarian Society was formed over 160 years ago, in 1849?
Londoners are an astute bunch, so it should be no surprise that PETA picked them out of a worldly bunch to proclaim their animal-friendly, healthy meatless ways.
If you're off to London soon, check out this site for places to get your veggie nosh on.
