Playboy's New Cover Model
"Blonde-haired" and "buxom" are two words that usually define Playboy magazine's cover models. But in the November issue, the featured lady could be better described as "blue-haired" and "illustrated."
According to a story on CNN.com, the latest model to grace Playboy's cover and pictorial spread will be none other than Marge Simpson. The surprising choice in cover model comes as "The Simpsons" celebrates its 20th anniversary. (To check out the magazine cover, click here).
Playboy editors hope the blue-haired beauty will commemorate the popular TV show and also boost the magazine's popularity. Like many magazines, the past year brought a 31 percent decrease in the number of Playboy's ad pages. With luck, the Marge Simpson issue will bring bigger circulation numbers and reel in younger readers.
Surprisingly, the Playboy issue isn't Ms. Simpson's magazine cover debut. In 2004, Maxim magazine featured the lovable cartoon character on the front of its issue.
We're not too sure that readers will want to see Marge without her trademark green dress and red necklace. But then again, if anyone knows what sexy is, it's Hugh Hefner.
