A Cinema Built for Four

As the Brits would say, it is small, but perfectly formed.

The world's smallest cinema opened its curtains this week in Coventry, northwest of London. It seats just four people, has an 84-inch screen, and its program is certainly unique: films made about the historic Coventry market.

"It is not showing the latest blockbusters, so we are not expecting huge crowds, but it is just a bit of fun and is about creating a bit of interest in the market," the market’s marketing manager Brian Sexton told The Coventry Telegraph.

"We have had films about the market made for the last 13 years, but if people missed them the first time round and don’t have access to the Internet, then they never see them," Sexton told the Telegraph. "And it is a shame because the films involve all the people in the market and the public."

According to the UK’s Metro newspaper, the miniplex officially will enter the Guinness Book of Records later this month.

The films will be shown for free in a two-hour loop until Christmas, bring your own popcorn. And, this being England — you could probably get away with BYOB.
