Feeling Blue? Break Out Your Nanotech Lipstick
I know you've all been losing sleep over which cosmetics trends will be hot in 2010. Well, luckily, the products that are going to make the biggest splash will help you have a better mood, which will help you not lose sleep over things.
Wait, what? Mood-enhancing makeup?
Yup, who needs Botox when you can just use nanotechnology to keep you smiling all the time? Apparently that is going to be the next big thing at the cosmetics counter. The makeup will be "enhanced by biochemistry and nanotechnology advances," according to the "Global Beauty Trends for 2010" report released by the consulting firm Mintel, reports Canada's National Post.
The report labels the next trend "Mood Beauty," which raises the question of whether having a better mood is supposed to make you look better, or whether the makeup does that while making you feel better at the same time.
These are, as the Post puts it, "high-tech beauty products," which are part of the "Turbo Beauty 4G trend" that captures advances in biochemistry to enhance cosmetics.
For goodness sakes, people, isn't there anything in life that's allowed to be low-tech or non-turbo-charged anymore? Oh well, I won't worry about it; I just applied my lipstick.
