Nominate Your Favorite Charity to Win $20,000
Here's a contest we here at Tonic can get behind. Riceworks, the makers of gourmet brown rice cracker snacks, is running a competition for the most inspiring nonprofit or charity.
Riceworks judges will pick a grand total of 33 "winning" charities. The grand pize winner gets $20,000, two finalists get $5,000, and the other 30 charities will each get $1,000. It's pretty much a win-win!
Got a favorite charity? Why not nominate it. Here's how:
1. Fill out an online nomination at ShowUsYourGoodness.com by Feb. 28.
2. Be sure to describe why you find the charity inspiring in 300 words or less.
3. From March 1-15, judges will pick 33 Finalists.
4. Check ShowUsYourGoodness.com on March 16 to vote for the "People's Pick" Award from the 33 Semi-Finalists. Voting ends on April 30. (The Grand Prize winner and two Finalists will be selected by six independent judges.)
5. The nominators of the three top Finalists will each win $100 worth of riceworks products.
The Grand Prize winner and two Finalists will be announcement on May 5.
So far, dozens of charities have been nominated, including the ASPCA, Yéle Haiti, the Canadian Cancer Society, and Feed the Children, among many others have earned nominations.
