The World's Longest Golf Course
With 848 miles of golf course, you better have a damn good caddy.
Actually, when Nullarbor Links opens on Australia's southern coast in October, they will have Jeeps to help you carry that five iron. Still, starting in the oyster beds of Denial Bay and finishing near the first gold rush site, this near-weeklong course is a golf junkie's paradise. Think of it as a tour of South Aussie complete with hotels, outback transportation and plenty of beaches where you can map out your comeback or victory. Who knows, you might even have to putt your ball between the legs of a kangaroo.
Last June, the course announced they were in the final stages of building and that Nullarbor Links would officially open in October with a four-day tournament. The tourney will commence Oct. 22 in Ceduna and finish in Kalgoorlie with a presentation on Oct. 27. In the future, either town can be your starting point for the 18 holes, and there are employees at each hole to give your scorecard an official stamp to confirm you completed the world's longest course.
Right now, the Links have only provided the date, but information on participating in the tournament will soon be available online. After that, the course will be officially open and there for the conquering.
