Pajama Jeans: The New Snuggie

Casual Friday was invented so that we would have a day at work when we could be more comfortable. It's a time-honored tradition for everyone to come into work on Fridays in their jeans.

It turns out that not everyone thinks jeans are so comfortable. Though denim is one of the most durable materials (invented for that reason in 1853 by German immigrant Levi Strauss), the onslaught of "skinny jeans" and "jeans that suck you in" has rendered the material less than snuggly for many.

So now, there are Pajama Jeans. One $40 pair of these sweat pants that look like jeans will supposedly have you doing yoga and going to the gym, let alone sitting on the couch, in what look like "European designer jeans" — no seriously, they attribute the faux brass rivets to Europe. See below.

As skeptical as I am about these ... I secretly want a pair. I mean, what an easy thing to put on in the morning to run across the street for a bagel! I just can't find it in my heart to believe they really fit, look, and flatter like jeans do, but I totally see a reason to buy a pair if they're in the least bit convincing.

In any case, whether Pajama Jeans are the answer to your prayers or the answer to a question you weren't going to ask, it's fun to know they're here. Some may think that fashion is being "dumbed down," but we say fashion is being made humane. Go Pajama Jeans!!
