Irrational Exuberance Be Gone
They say you shouldn’t make big decisions when you’re feeling emotional. This is especially true when you’re investing. But how are you supposed to police yourself when you’re too busy weeping? Well, now, NPR reports, Philips Electronics has a product that will do the judging for you.
Instead of selling all your retail stock because sales dropped this month, the Rationalizer will see that you’re sweating and stressing and just selling out of fear -- and it will tell you to stop selling by flashing a bright red light. Its mechanism gauges your pulse and sweat and reflects a soft yellow to bright red flash depending on your mood.
So if the Rationalizer and the company’s other products don’t hit big this Christmas, when the company says they’re expecting to see consumer confidence return, what will the bracelet say if we try to calmly unload all of our Philips stock?
