The Recession in Rhyme
Business news can be dry. That’s why we applaud the efforts of Marketplace’s Bill Radke, who’s trying to spice it up by delivering the week’s news in 60 seconds and, more impressively, in verse.
In this week’s Marketplace Minute, Radke manages to get in rhymes about the Dow surpassing 1,000 points, the falling value of the dollar and the fact that Social Security recipients won’t be getting a cost of living adjustment this year. What’s more: He’s not even taking the easy way out with rhyming couplets. Radke goes all out, mixing news of Bank of America in an alternating rhyme scheme.
Don't believe us? Hear for yourself in the Marketplace Minute 10/16/09 from Marketplace on Vimeo, below:
We’re not the only one who thinks it’s pretty great. We first found out about Radke’s business poems from Felix Salmon of Reuters.
Still find it boring reading about stocks and trades and banks? Just tune in to Bill Radke. Trust us, you’ll say thanks.
