Hotel Stays for Service
Now when you invest in your community, you can earn free hotel stays toward your next vacation. It's a new program being offered by Sage Hospitality hotels through Dec. 20.
Here's how it works. You donate a full day -- eight hours -- to a 501c3 nonprofit organization and have them verify the service on official letterhead. Then look at the list of hotels and availability and book the room at least 48 before arrival. There are blackout dates and a limited number of rooms available per day, so you'll have to book accordingly. Guests are also responsible for any taxes.
Hotels offering a free night include the Sheraton in Tucson and Tempe in Arizona, the Courtyard in Monrovia and San Diego in California, The Hilton Garden Inn and JW Marriott in Denver, Sheraton Chicago NW, the Fairfield Inn Las Vegas and dozens more. There are also several more hotels, like the Courtyard Los Angeles and Chicago's Essex Inn, offering 50 percent off the night's stay. The program also offers 50 percent off room rates for active and retired members of the military and public education system.
