Send a Kissable Treat This Halloween Via the Web
No, it's not exactly Valentine's Day, but you can send your favorite person a unique smooch in honor of Halloween this year thanks to Carmex.
The lip balm company has set up a special Halloween treat Web site for its "virtual vampire kiss of death," which offers an animated set of lips you can slap onto a photo of yourself (or someone else), and e-mail along with a special note, according to a press release.
Kissers can choose from four choices: the Tingly Kiss (a set of obviously kissable gold lips), Kiss-Off! (yup, there's a little tongue action here), French Kiss (which you might only want to send to someone you obviously kiss a lot) or the Kiss of Death, which features a vampire smile dripping with gold-colored blood.
If you can't think of the perfect prose to send along with the kiss, Carmex offers up a few template messages. One is for hopeless romantics ("Everyone gets one kiss in their lifetime they never forget!"), the second is a bit marketing heavy as it actually uses the Carmex name, and the third is the mushiest: "You are the cheese to my mac, the jelly to my peanut butter, the Luigi to my Mario, and the shake to my bake."
You get the idea on that one, I think. Keep in mind the photo chosen can't be too big and it can be tricky aligning the lips on a head shot.
Once you've created your kiss, you have the chance to preview it and obviously think twice about whom you're sending it to.
Yes, it's all a ploy to market the company's lip balm, but it's pretty darn cute as well.
