Soda Maker Streamlines Grant Support With High-tech Help

Coca-Cola is eliminating even more burps that can occur in corporate grant processes with new software that lets nonprofit grant seekers use online software when seeking program support.

The Web process, according to a company press statement, eliminates the manual work in processing more than 10,000 applications that the company's philanthropic Global Community Connections program receives each year.

Developed by Cybergrants, a Massachusetts online grant management provider, the online system offers a single point of entry for those seeking the company's support in sponsorships, donations and just plain cash contributions.

“The Coca-Cola Company is committed to giving back a portion of what we earn each year to make a unique and sustainable difference in communities worldwide,” said Ingrid Saunders Jones, senior vice president of Global Community Connections and chair of The Coca-Cola Foundation, in the press statement. Coca-Cola provided more than $82 million in charitable contributions in 2008 alone.

The application system also offers up insight and guidelines to help those seeking monetary support.

And while you're checking out the site, click over (and then scroll down a bit) to the company's homepage where a ticker counts down how many people are actually drinking beverages from the world's largest beverage seller.
