Stood Up At The Alter, Bride Throws a Party
When Teanne Harris showed up to get married last Saturday in Chicago, she was counting on having a really good time at her Halloween-themed reception. What she wasn't counting on, was the groom, Matt Harker not showing up — at all.
So what's a jilted bride-not-to-be to do? If you're Harris, you make the most of your misery, by giving a banquet hall full of surprised senior citizens a party to remember!
The Asbury Hall Retirement Community is across the street from where Harris's Halloween-themed fete was to take place. After being told that she couldn't get her deposit back for the reception that never was, she decided to put it to good use for the seniors, who, the NY Post writes, were dressed up in costumes like Raggedy Ann and Dracula. Aw!! (The bridal bouquet found a new home in the chapel of the retirement center).
With ingenuity like that in a time of distress, that's the kind of lady you want by your side, for better or for worse. Matt Harker's loss will surely be someone else's gain.
In fact, it already was.
