Struggling College Student!!!!
I am a twenty six year old mother of one and step mother to two. My oldest step son is now attending college, as well as myself. I began my journey to continue back to school and make something of myself in the fall of 2010. My father had been encouraging me to find myself and become someone productive and well educated, not just a gas station clerk ( which is what i was ). I worked graveyards and tried to maintain a full time school schedule as well as raising children. I was so passionate about my cause and education though, nothing could stop me. My father had been very ill for three years prior, he had heart failure and went through numerous surgeries which included by pass surgery, then stents when his by passes collapsed, then an icd when his heart quit beating well on it's own. In the middle of my father's struggle he lost his home, his only vehicle, his job due to being disbaled, and his pride. I worked two jobs to support my own family as well as my mother and father. My husband and I struggled to find him an apartment after christmas when he lost his house, and a car. We did it though! The entire time we supported three households, as my husbands parents are disabled and depend on our care as well. The first semester of school was looking well for me, until my father died five weeks into it. I had to plan and pay for his entire funeral, work, and attend school, while also moving my mother in with me one week after because his ss check wouldnt be deposited after his death and my mother lost her apartment. Somehow I made it and still came out with a 3.4 GPA. Now I am feeling the ill effects of it. I struggle to pay my bills after picking up new debt to cremate my father, to pay my education, and eat in between. I wish there was something to help students like me. I apply for scholarships, but nothing yet. I work so hard and want to get my masters so badly and be a productive member of society, I am majoring in psychology and yearn to help others. I smile through it all and keep plugging along because my dad would want me to, but my life is so different and difficult now. My dad was my everything. My goal is to finish school and buy his home back for him to spread his ashed there,that was his wish. Somehow, someway, someday I will do this. If anyone knows of financial help to hard working students to pay for college and survive through it, please help me!!!!!

Im a single mom of two teenagers (who insist on Kobe VII 180.00 shoes and betsey johnson tutus and ) I go to school full time also with a fucking 4.0 while being a hands on mom so quit bitching and whining and looking for a hand out suck it up
