Summer Writin' Had Me a Blast

All of us at Tonic are excited over our Positively Good Writers' Program — a chance for journalism students from around the world to write for us throughout the summer. We are pleased to announce that over 30 writers have joined the program from schools all over the planet.

photojournalistYou can check out our writing intern submissions at our Positively Good Writers' Program page. These writers allow Tonic to expand its geographic reach for original good news to more parts of the world. The students gain valuable writing experience and a chance to build their portfolios. And, if writers succeed in the internship, we are even considering hiring one or more full-time after the program concludes at the end of July.

To celebrate the end of the first two-week program period, we would like to feature five articles that we believe represent the best of what Tonic is all about and will put a smile on readers' faces — a sign of a "good" story in our book! And, if you are an intern and your story is not listed here I bet it will show up here in this weekly round-up before the end of the program.

In no particular order, here is some of the talent gracing Tonic:

Are you a Social Media-tor? by Steve Mnich Simple and Green by Thomas Leskin Never Judge a Heart By the Size of the Body by Stevie Stevenson Tawny Holt: Green Designer Extraordinaire by Johnie Gall New Veggie Racing Car — Italian Dressing Not Included by Alexander Webb

Please be sure to stop by and read all the stories that these talented writers are producing for us. Better yet, be sure to share with your online communities. Leave comments. Come back. You never know — you might help a struggling writer score a job!
