Bargain Hunting With Ashley Greene, Kelly Ripa and Donna Karan (What a Super Saturday!)

If you're out in NYC's Hamptons this weekend it is definitely worth buying a ticket to Super Saturday 13, a super tag sale featuring just about every major designer you can name off the top of your head (think, Theory, Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein, Catherine Malandrino, Charlotte Ronson, Diane von Furstenberg, Elizabeth & James, Giorgio Armani and Ralph Lauren.)

And to make you feel good about all the bargain hunting, the event, co-hosted by Greene, Ripa, Karan and In Style magazine, is raising funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

Have no fear if you can't make it out to the East End of Long Island this weekend. Bargain hunters nationwide can participate from their living rooms now that OCRF has joined forces with QVC. The shopping network will broadcast live on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., allowing viewers to purchase clothes, accessories, jewelry and beauty supplies at half the manufacturer's suggested value.

Super Saturday was created in 1998 by Donna Karan, the late Liz Tilberis and OCRF’s President Faith Kates Kogan. Donna has underwritten the event since its founding and all net proceeds raised go directly to OCRF’s research programs. In 2009, Super Saturday raised over $3.7 million for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

Why not right now? Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have already proven the power social media and celebrity can have to affect charitable causes. The celeb power of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would only be able to harness that power and then multiply it by a factor of a hundred.
