Teen Idol (and Do-Gooder) Justin Bieber Turns 16

Today is Justin Bieber's sweet sixteen and according to reports, the Canadian singer-songwriter had quite the celebratory weekend.

Bieber reportedly hosted a three-day party in Los Angeles where he enjoyed sumo wrestling, basketball, and paintball amongst other activities. On the eve of his birthday, Bieber took to his Twitter page to thank his many fans (he has 1,230,614 to be exact) saying: “surrounded by great friends and my birthday is almost here. thanks to everyone for the well wishes."

On another celebratory note, the teen heartthrob is steadily climbing his way to the top of Twitter’s Trending Topics list thanks to the thousands of birthday messages posted in his honor. After being discovered on You Tube, the pop singer was signed by Usher and he went on to break world records with his two-part debut album My World. His charitable endeavors include working with Pencils of Promise, an organization which helps build schools for under privileged children in developing countries.

Whatever happens next for this teen star, we think Bieber Fever may have only just begun.
