Pete Wentz Tapped by UNICEF: The Fall Out Boy bassist is now a frontman: He's the spokesperson for the 2010 UNICEF Tap Project, which encourages restaurant patrons to donate $1 or more to help bring potable water to developing countries.

Paul McCartney Saves Abbey Road Studios: After the legendary McCartney, DJ Chris Evans and the public exploded in outrage after EMI announced it would be closing the legendary studio made famous by the Beatles album, the British government sped up the application process to have the site granted "grade II listed status" (read: a historic, and therefore, non-destroyable entity). Now McCartney's guitar can stop gently weeping.

Jackie Chan's Latest Fight: The kung-fu master is famous for his legendary on-screen fights, but now he's taking on an even bigger fight off-screen. Chan has filmed a moving PSA in an effort to find a bone marrow donor for an 8-year-old girl with leukemia.

Underdogs Sweep the BAFTAs: Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker trumped the big-budget blockbuster Avatar in the Best Picture race, and she also beat out her ex-husband James Cameron to become the first female in BAFTA history to clinch the Best Director prize. Will smaller, true-life films like Precious and The Hurt Locker reign supreme at the Oscars as well?

Artists Unite for Haiti: Famous artists and musicians like Terrence Koh, Michael Stipe, Jeff Koons and Patti Smith have joined forces to raise money for Partners in Health, an organization doing ground-level relief work in Haiti.The famous names involved are creating Marcel Duchamp-inspired "ready-made" works of art that will be auctioned in a public web-auction to raise money for the cause.
