The Brief, June 26: A Brief Break From Mourning Lost Icons

Ho-ly cow. What a week. The entertainment world suffered a chilling trio of losses in rapid-fire form: Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and now, The King of Pop himself. We could link and link to tributes and updates, but as they're front and center on every paper in circulation, we'll give you a Brief-style break and some stories to lighten your heavy heart. Put on some "Billy Jean," feather your hair, and do a mean, "Heeeeeeeeere's Johnny!" They will be missed.

Race cars held to higher standards.Diversity in the force."Seven Solar Sensations." Say that 10 times fast.Yesterday's garbage is today's put-put course.Take a break-slash-mental-vacation and transport to our country's most beautiful spots. Everyman approved.
