The Million Dollar Health Countdown

Whether or not you like his liberal politics, you have to like Keith Olbermann's efforts to support free health care clinics. The MSNBC "Countdown" host helped raise $1.2 million by making on-air and online appeals, including a $50,000 donation from Olbermann himself. The money will go to sponsoring free health care fairs in Little Rock, Kansas City and New Orleans.

Olbermann reached out to the National Association of Free Clinics, whom he praised for conducting a free health fair in Houston that helped 1,500 people without insurance. Olbermann helped raise the money for these three upcoming fairs, but he hopes to help sponsor further events in three more cities.

The dates for the health fairs are as follows -- Nov. 14 in New Orleans, Nov. 21 in Little Rock and Dec. 9-10 in Kansas City. If you live in those cities and could benefit from a free medical visit (or want to find a free clinic in your area), click here for more information.

Whether your politics are red, blue or purple, we can all agree on two things. First, helping sick needy people is a wonderful act. And second, holy crap, that Olbermann dude has one gigantic noggin!
