The Nanny Wants You to Take Care of Yourself
Fran Drescher, aka television's The Nanny is getting into the skin care biz. FranBrand (say it in her Queens nasal drawl for full effect), will launch this fall (soon!) on the HSN network. There's a lot of skin care lines already, but we're thinking the magnetic Drescher will have no problem standing out. She's a vocal activist in helping to protect women's health, having survived her own uterine cancer which she wrote about in her book Cancer Schmancer. (Also the name of her cancer organization.)
The nine-piece organic line, NY MAG reports, was overseen first-hand by Drescher, with the intent to help women gain more awareness of what they're putting on their bodies, can go into their bodies. As an envoy for women's health issues for the State Department, Drescher knows of what she speaks.
"Women are schmearing stuff on their décolleté, wondering why we're all getting breast cancer," she told the magazine. "Once you wake up and smell the coffee, it's hard to go back to sleep. So I'm sounding the alarm."
Looks like she didn't just play a caretaker on TV, she really is one.
