These Tees Are Finger Lickin' Good
KFC may be tasty, but sitting down to enjoy a big bucket of original recipe probably doesn't make you think about innovative fashion design. But for the next few weeks, KFC is running a T-shirt design contest for anyone that's not, um, too chicken to enter ... with sales from the winning designs funding college scholarships for students that need them.
The competition marks the third year that KFC has sold charity tees to raise money for its Colonel's Scholars program, which has awarded more than $5 million in scholarship money over the past few years. The first year's tees featured old-school logos; last year's had a politically themed "left wing" or "right wing" design. For this year's offering, budding designers are invited to enter their ideas for tees on KFC's website through July 13; three winners will be chosen, with their tees sold through mid-September to raise scholarship funds.
The winner with the most votes also wins a trip to New York during Fashion Week next February, along with $1,000 to put towards their fashion career.
And all three winners win a year's supply of KFC, which means fitting into a size small T-shirt by next February may be wishful thinking.
