TLC Reforms for Justin Timberlake Charity Event
Justin Timberlake knows how to end on the right note and not just when he's singing. For the second year in a row, he concluded his Las Vegas charity golf tournament with a big concert, and Saturday's line-up featured Snoop Dogg, Taylor Swift, Ciara and Alicia Keys, none of whom I can imagine playing golf. The concert highlight for many fans, though, was a performance by TLC's Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas.
As a trio, the female group dominated the '90s earning four Grammy awards and several chart-topping hits like "Waterfalls," "Creep," "No Scrubs" and "Unpretty." Member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes died in a car accident in Honduras seven years ago. During her life, she started the Lisa Lopes Foundation, which helps needy villages around the world. Her foundation is even building an orphanage in Honduras.
Timberlake, talking to MTV News that day from the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino, remarked, "Having everyone out and getting to see them do their set -- there are a couple of things that have never been performed onstage. There's a new song from [Timbaland] tonight from his record that we did together. I think Snoop's doing a new song from his new record. So it's kinda cool for them too, because it's like perfect test marketing."
The celebrity golf tournament and concert raised money for the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
