Toddlers Want To Put a Ring On It
You know that diaper-clad toddler who's made the rounds on YouTube for dancing along to Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)"? Well, he's far from the only tot who's enamored with that little ditty. Time Magazine reports that kids around the world are quasi-obsessed with the pop song, which surprisingly puts Beyonce in the same category as The Wiggles.
"Young children love songs with good rhythm and repetition, and 'Single Ladies' certainly has both," Kara Shall, whose company turns bars into child-proof discos once a month in 21 cities, told Time.
Turns out they like the video just as much as the song. Time reports that babies love high-contrast colors, steady beats and smiling women's faces, which Beyonce's video has in abundance.
What's more, it turns out adults love watching kids watch Beyonce. The already-infamous video featuring 13-month-old Cory Elliott bopping along to the black-and-white video has more than 2.8 million hits on YouTube, while another video featuring a cutie-pie named Ava has been watched more than a million times.
Time did us all a service and compiled a video featuring the best clips of kids bopping along to Beyonce. So, if you have a toddler who's getting a little bored with the Teletubbies, queue up this video and see what happens.
