Tonic's 2009 Celebrity iPod Auction

The results are in. You guys love your iPods.

Since our launch, Tonic has been unveiling star after star in our celebrity iPod Auction series. By now, you're well aware that this isn't just about jamming out to Mariah Carey's playlist or oggling Gwen Stefani's signature, though doing all that is totally cool. Nope. This is about sending lifelines to music's heartbeat in a post-Katrina New Orleans and the Gulf states. Auction -1.jpgproceeds all go to Music Rising to support artists who live in and around the city. Don't forget that our country's musical landscape was crafted there thanks to the true American musical art forms: jazz and blues. Supporting Music Rising is like breathing life into a critical part of our country's cultural history.

Past auctions have swept up fun and funds hawking donated iPods from the likes of Bill Clinton, Scarlett Johansson, Ellen DeGeneres and Jason Bateman.

Now the list continues with stars from every corner of the limelight. In addition to overall badasses like Randy Jackson, Chris Blackwell, Warren Buffett and Richard Branson, there's a slew of performers (and unidentifiable entertainers — ie: Perez Hilton and Ivanka Trump) on the schedule.

Check out this impressive list of musicians:

Plus, this handful of top-notch actors:

Kevin Bacon Patricia Clarkson Ed Burns Lin Manuel-Miranda Selena Gomez Seth Meyers Drew Carey and Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick.

(Oh — and Tom Brady thrown in for good measure.)

You don't have to be a Dixieland fan to be a part of preserving New Orleans' rich musical legacy — one that's still kickin' despite the unspeakably damaging effect that Katrina had on music education and culture. Nope. You just need to give a damn about good tunes. Pick up a rad piece of pop culture memorabilia right now, and feel good about the impact your little treasure is making.

Following through with a bid can be a little daunting if it's new to you. We make it easy, though. Maybe even — dare I say it? — fun. It's a worthwhile way to justify a deliciously decadent buy. From all of us at Tonic, happy listening and thanks for bidding!
