Tonic Mixtape: White Rabbits
You know you're doing something right when you're a new group and your label mates are Radiohead and Underworld. That's the case for White Rabbits, who have joined these big British acts on TBD Records.
The Brooklyn indie rockers actually got their start in Missouri, where three of the members had played in the colorfully named Texas Chainsaw Mass Choir. After moving to NYC, the band released "Fort Nightly" in 2007 to critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic. This even landed the six-person group a slot on "The Late Show with David Letterman."
This past summer, the band released its first TBD disc, "It's Frightening," which is currently available on Amazon.com as a $5 digital download. The album, produced by Spoon singer-guitarist Britt Daniel, is now breaking at radio with the single "Percussion Gun," the video for which is below.
White Rabbits, which features two vocalists, is currently on tour and reportedly mixing in lots of fun covers by artists like Bob Dylan and the Specials. It remains to be seen if radio play will put them over the top right away, but this is clearly a band worth following down the rabbit hole.
