Tonic Mixtape: Pilotpriest
Pilotpriest learned to play the piano by ear at age six. With that much natural talent, it is no wonder he became such a remarkable DJ.
People first discovered his talents in 2007 with his remix of Run DMC's "My Adidas," which quickly caught a buzz in the clubs and online. More classic remixes followed, like Kanye West's "Love Lockdown" and Snoop Dogg's "Sensual Seduction," and even DJ AM came calling asking for a track.
"I did't want to just make house music," he says of the early days, he says, "I wanted to make melodic house music." When he did his first remix (Justice's "We Are Your Friends"), he incorporated those same melodic sensibilities into dance tracks.
Today, Pilotpriest remains on the upswing and continues to make a name in the clubs, and the remixes will keep on coming. Check out more mixes here on his MySpace page.
