Trudie Styler Releases Fitness DVDs With Eco-Friendly Focus
The first of Trudie Styler’s five yoga and fitness DVDs, Trudie Styler's Warrior Yoga, which she developed with fitness guru James D. SIlva, just hit shelves. What differentiates Styler's fitness DVDs from the rest of those on the market? They have an emphasis on green living and feature music from her husband Sting’s classical album Songs From the Labyrinth. The first disc contains bonus material that includes a tour of Il Palagio, the couple's eco-friendly Tuscan villa, and a piece about organic wine production and the couple’s own organic wine label, Sister Moon. Additionally, portions of the proceeds from the DVDs will go to UNICEF Ecuador Water Project, which helps provide communities in the Ecuadorian rainforests with potable water.
Ms. Styler stopped by The Martha Stewart Show last week to teach Martha — and her devoted fan base — about different styles of yoga. The show was filmed in front of an audience made up of 51 yogis, who all practiced along with Styler and Stewart for the entire hour-long taping. Styler led the group through an "empowering warrior workout," which featured poses and series from three styles of yoga: Iyengar, vinyasa and ashtanga. Styler does yoga for at least 30 minutes every day and has been practicing for years.
From the looks of the pictures, Martha Stewart enjoyed herself as Styler led her through highlights from routines on her new DVDs. If you’re looking to take up yoga and contribute to a worthy cause, this is the DVD series for you.
