Touched By An Angel?
People across the country who have watched a harrowing video of a little girl apparently being rammed by a speeding car are speculating over whether it was luck or a guardian angel that saved the six-year-old's life.
Adorable Yasmin Frausto was skipping around the parking lot and sidewalk outside the Valley View Mart in Sunnyside, Wash. when seemingly out of nowhere a red Toyota Camry came barreling toward her at a high speed. The car appeared to smash into the side of the building and a surveillance video shows what looks like Yasmin being crushed.
But what can't be seen on the video is that a parking pole jutting up from the parking lot stopped the car before it hit the wall, and Yasmin was safe in the small space between the car and the wall (watch the video below).
Meanwhile, little Yasmin was terrified that the car hit her parents. "She didn't know if the car hit them and they didn't know if the car hit her 'cause they were on both sides of the car," her father, Acension Frausto, said through a translator, according to KNDO TV.
Her father believes a higher power was watching over his little girl. "[t's] something incredible that even he as an adult still can't believe it," said Detective Jim Ortiz with the Sunnyside Police Department, who served as the father's translator.
Meanwhile, Yasmin is still recovering from the ordeal, but enjoying the new beanie baby -- an angel -- she received after the near-miss.
A fitting gift for a little girl who might have more than just luck on her side.
