What's Your True North?
Frito-Lay's TrueNorth, which makes 100 percent natural nut snacks, believes that each person has a singular passion in life, one that can leave a mark, motivate others or just make the world a bit more interesting. That's why they're promoting the "TrueNorth Story of the Month" campaign.
They're asking people to submit a written essay to the TrueNorth website that talks about how they're seeking out their life's passion, and each month through December, the company will choose one story to feature on the website. In addition, the person will be awarded a $1,000 grant and a "passion pack" to help pursue that passion.
Last year, Lisa Nigro, the founder of Inspiration Cafe, won the company's nationwide search for the most inspiring story in America. Inspiration Cafe in Chicago is both a restaurant for the homeless and a center that helps those affected by homelessness and poverty make their lives better and further their self-sufficiency. It started in 1989 when Lisa pulled her nephew's red wagon filled with coffee and sandwiches around Uptown Chicago to feed the homeless, and it grew from there to a corporation that includes three different cafes.
If you have a similarly inspiring story or know of one, submit it and maybe you or the person you know will be featured on the TrueNorth website.
