When Time Stops... Not Really, But It Looks Like It

When Time Stops... Not Really, But It Looks Like It

July 7

Call us "Gee Whiz" geeks, but the Smile File loves it when quirks in daily life cause something kooky to happen. A little kooky is coming to clocks in the United States tomorrow, July 8th, at 12:34pm.

At that moment, clocks will read: 12:34:56 on 7/8/9. Neat-o!

Writers at the Mustang Daily blog point out this moment doesn't happen everywhere because each region writes the date according to its own practices. Take it away Mustang Daily blog:

What if you live in Europe? It is known that Europeans write their date the opposite of their American counterparts. For them, I guess they will have to wait a month to celebrate on August 7th or their version of 7/8/9.

Interesting, nonetheless. See you all in 100 years when it will be 12:34:56 on 7/8/90. But perhaps if you can’t wait that long September 9th will be 09:09:09 on 09/09/09, a moment the whole world, and not just the United States, can celebrate together at once.

To our stateside friends, see you at 12:34:56 tomorrow!
