Where Were Bush and Lauren Last Night? FEEDing ...
If you've read Plum Sykes' book Bergdorf Blondes, you already know that New York's iconic Bergdorf Goodman is a mecca for everything elegant and upscale in the Big Apple. And if you're a loyal Tonic reader, you know that — as we reported a couple of days ago — the store is the exclusive place to pick up Lauren Bush's new FEED bag, which includes a hefty donation to feed children in Kenya in its price. Last night, the store held a predictably posh party to launch this bona fide "it" — as in "buy it now and help kids in need" — bag.
The event was held on Bergdorf's fifth floor, where (near racks of gorgeous goodies from the likes of Phillip Lim and Marc by Marc Jacobs) Lauren Bush and David Lauren (Ralph's son) met shoppers and mingled. (Yes, they are a couple ... and yes, if they were to get married, her name would become Lauren Lauren.) And, if you're thinking you've already seen plenty of FEED bags at Whole Foods, think again — this sack is the fashionista version, with a shoulder strap and beading that looks a bit like a hippified take on an Hermes Evelyne.
Quite a few of the bags were sold last night, but plenty are still available. And if you don't live in New York City, you can still get your hands on one of the beauties: just email personalshopping@bergdorfgoodman.com.
