Gut-busting Collaboration
We don’t know who came up with this collaboration or the idea to promote it, but we’re not asking any questions. We just hope the promotion lasts. According to Engadget, Burger King Japan has teamed up with Microsoft to promote the software giant’s Windows 7 platform by selling a seven-patty Whopper. Yes, our arteries clogged a little just hearing about it, too.
The burger will measure over five inches in height and will add untold inches to your waistline. In keeping with the theme, the first seven courageous carnivores to get in line each day will pay just 777 yen, or about $8.55 for the seven-stacker. Those who don’t feel like eating seven meat patties for breakfast will have to pay $17.
Does Microsoft really need seven patties worth of hype to push Windows 7? The reviews have been generally positive, but maybe the company felt the need to associate itself with something most people love (a juicy burger), so customers would detach the Microsoft name from something most people did not love (Windows Vista).
We’re not really ones to question the wisdom of offering gut-busting burgers to a hungry public, so we’re just going to get in line and hope our belts can handle it.
