Maroon 5 Singer Takes it All Off
Singer Adam Levine stripped down to nothing more than his tattoos for a spread in British Cosmopolitan to raise awareness for Everyman, a UK-based organization that fights prostate and testicular cancers.
Levine’s girlfriend, Victoria’s Secret model Anne Vyalitsyna, provides some strategically-placed cover over Levine’s privates in the photo.
“I spend most of my life naked,” Levine told the magazine. “In fact, I often have to be told by the people around me that it’s inappropriate to be as naked as I am. But I live in California, where it’s always warm, so why not?”
There are 217,000 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed each year in the US, according to figures from the American Cancer Society.
Bjork Takes on Big Energy With Her Big Voice
The diminutive Icelandic singer Bjork is hosting a karaoke marathon in Reykjavik to pressure the government to stop selling off her country’s natural resources.
“We want to give the nation a voice, a chance to reclaim its energy resources by singing them back,” Bjork said.
The marathon runs through Saturday and encourages her native countrymen to sign a petition lobbying to overturn the sale of Icelandic geothermal company HS Orka to Canadian concern Magma Energy.
Aretha Franklin Wants Fans to Know She’s Doing Great
Soul singing superstar Aretha Franklin wants her fans to know that she is feeling much better. I’m “feeling great and coming along,” Franklin said in an interview with JET magazine.
The legendary diva said she didn’t want to discuss rumors that she is stricken with pancreatic cancer.
“I don’t have to talk about my health with anybody other than my doctors. The problem has been resolved … there are a lot of people who will talk about anything, as long as there is somebody listening,” she says. “But I am not one of those people. That’s not Aretha.”
Aretha thanked her fans for their support and prayers and asked for continued privacy as she recuperates.
