Yesterday actress and UNICEF Ambassador Alyssa Milano launched the website Baby Bugliari, encouraging her fans, friends and family to donate to UNICEF’s Child Survival Programs in lieu of gifts for her unborn baby boy.
“I’m overwhelmed with the outpouring of support for the birth of my child and wanted to find a way to help mothers and children who face a very different reality than I do.” Milano said.
“With every $5 donation, UNICEF can provide assistance to children in developing countries so they can grow to be healthy, happy and strong – which is exactly what we want for our child.”
Funds raised will help protect mothers and their newborns in impoverished countries from diseases such as maternal neonatal tetanus, which can be prevented with immunizations that cost only $1.80. I think we can handle that. Donate here.
