Is there a silver lining to the current dismal state of our economy? Since we are devoted to delivering “all good news” here at Tonic, I took a deep dive into President-elect Barack Obama’s stimulus speech from earlier today to see what nuggets we could communicate to you.
While Obama avoided disclosing the cost of his economic stimulus package, he re-emphasized the dire state of the economy and much-needed fixes to get us back on track. And the winners seem to be education, energy and the environment. Good news for greenies.
Obama proposes doubling the production of alternative energy in the next three years, modernizing more than 75 percent of federal buildings and improving the energy efficiency of 2 million American homes saving consumers and taxpayers billions in the process. Our kids will also benefit as his package proposes equipping tens of thousands of educational facilities with new classrooms, labs, computers, teacher training and libraries.
Among other major components, he advocates building a “smart grid” to deliver more environmentally friendly energy to all of us. And through the course of this recovery, we at Tonic News will work tirelessly to make it easy for all of you to do good things with this good news. Read more here.
