Sarah Silverman Stands Up for Children
Even Sarah Silverman agreed she’s an unlikely speaker for a children’s charity fundraiser. But that’s exactly what happened when she took part in The Right to Laugh (something she does know a bit about), a benefit for the Alliance for Children’s Rights. She told Tonic, “In a nutshell, it’s filthy humor to further a noble cause.”
Ben Stiller Helping Haiti
Always ahead of the curve, Ben Stiller went to Haiti in 2009 and promised to do what he could to improve conditions in the impoverished nation, beginning with building schools. After January’s earthquake ravaged the nation, he began the Haitian School Initiative, setting up temporary schools to get kids back in classrooms. He also partnered with Paul Haggis’ Artists for Peach and Justice to raise funds to improve overall living conditions.
Jonas Brothers’ Bandmate’s Bold Move
The Jonas brothers guitarist, Greg “Garbo” Garbowsky, has volunteered to be a barber for a day at the St. Baldrick’s Foundation Head-Shaving Event March 20. Greg was inspired to take part in the event after his dad braved a shave at an event in honor of a family friend currently battling cancer. He will also be signing autographs in exchange for donations to St. Baldrick’s. Learn more here.

Anne Hathaway and her beau Adam Schulman have been happily dating for more than a year and we hear they’re looking into adoption. Dog adoption. The pair were recently spotted inquiring about a terrier mix named Chuck at Molly’s Mutts & Meows volunteer animal rescue in West Hollywood.
