Spike Lee Begs Obama To Bring the Hammer on BP

Spike Lee Does the Right Thing For the Gulf

Director Spike Lee screened parts of his new HBO documentary showing the effects of the BP oil spill on the people of the gulf to the National Association of Black journalists in San Diego over the weekend. The doc is a follow up to When the Levees Broke, Lee’s earlier film about about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

If God Is Willing And the Creek Don’t Rise picks up with the New Orleans Saints Superbowl victory and goes through the oil disaster.

Lee says that BP has refused to speak to him for the film and he has also called on President Barack Obama to “bring the hammer” down on BP.
