What goes faster, a child’s Big Wheel or a New York City bus?
Mark Malkoff, a New York City comedian and filmmaker, recently found out. Frustrated by the slow speed of the city’s buses (aren’t we all?), he decided to race one while riding a child’s tricycle. He squared off against the M42 bus in traffic over a one-mile stretch on busy 42nd Street.
Who do you think won? Yep, Malkoff. Calling himself, “part Evil Knievel, part Lance Armstrong, and part Steve-O,” he covered the mile in 12 minutes and 42 seconds, going 4.7 miles per hour. The bus lagged behind at about 15 minutes, or 3.8 miles per hour!
This is the sort of funny stunt Malkoff is known for. We’ve previously covered his successful effort to get strangers to carry him across Manhattan and the time he lived in his bathtub to wean himself off the internet.
