To friend or not to friend? That is the question for Facebook‘s 250 million users — including Bill Gates — the richest man on the planet.
Agence France-Presse reports that at a dinner in New Delhi, the Microsoft chairman said that he tried out Facebook, but was forced to quit after too many people tried to be his friend. After wading through the requests trying to figure out who he actually knew and who he didn’t, Gates said, “It was just way too much trouble so I gave it up.”
Despite being responsible for creating the most popular operating system in the world, or Microsoft’s 2007 purchase of 1.6 percent of Facebook, Gates suggests he probably has more in common with baby boomers than he does with teenagers when it comes to technology. He’s not too fond of text-messaging. He reads a lot, but sorry dedicated Kindle users — he even chooses paper over digital.
The world’s most famous tech nerd getting befuddled by too many Facebook friends? Thumbs up. We “like” this.
