Couldn’t get your hands on a pair of the wildly popular red mittens at the Olympics? Well, there is still a chance to get an amazing piece of Olympic memorabilia. And this one is for a good cause.
Gold medalist, and most decorated American Alpine skier of all time, Bode Miller is auctioning off his Olympic helmet on eBay. The funds will go to help Pam Warman, a former United States Ski Team ski technician, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
“Bode has always been an extremely generous guy. I remember him buying U.S. Ski Team jackets for the Development Team (the first step on the U.S. Ski Team ladder) a while ago,” says Warman. “No one knew where they came from. Bode didn’t want the credit, he just wanted to help out.”
Other ski team members, including three-time Olympic medalist Julia Mancuso, Steven Nyman and Bryon Friedman, will also auction off items on eBay for Warman.
Miller’s helmet is currently going for $2,600 with more than four days to go before the auction closes on March 10.
