All You Ever Wanted to Know About the BlackBerry and More

Just in time for the holiday shopping season comes the literary tome of all things BlackBerry.

Yes, rejoice, you CrackBerry addicts, as you can now get the down and dirty on how Research in Motion (RIM) developed and designed the smartphone by grabbing a copy of “BlackBerry Planet: The Story of Research in Motion and the Little Device that Took the World by Storm.”

The book includes reflections of the creative minds at RIM on everything there is to know and love about what’s viewed by most as the most secure business mobile smartphone and what is termed the “Swiss Army Knife of smart phones” by publisher Wiley.

The 304-page book, which sells for $26.95, includes how RIM founder Mike Lazaridis’ invention at the young age of 23 became a blockbuster mobile gadget that’s got the adoration of President Barack Obama.

A publicity spokesperson told Tonic.com it’s the first-ever book written about the BlackBerry and provides the “behind-the-scenes” story. It’s written by Canadian writer Alastair Sweeny, who has authored histories on major companies in several sectors, including technology and financial services.
