Brett Favre Sings ‘Pants on the Ground’

***EDITOR’S NOTE: WE’RE SORRY TO REPORT THAT YOUTUBE HAS REMOVED THE BRETT FAVRE “PANTS ON THE GROUND” VIDEO FROM THEIR SITE. FROM HERE ON OUT, WE’LL ALL JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER (OR IMAGINE) THAT MOMENT…***

If you’ve been on the Internet in the last week, you know that 63-year-old “General” Larry Platt’s “Pants on the Ground” song has become a sensation, thanks to the amazing reach of American Idol and, of course, YouTube. Platt, who actually marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., went on ABC’s The View Monday morning to do another performance and Jimmy Fallon has already done a spot-on Neil Young version of the song. And now the song has spread its reach even further, into the locker room of playoff-winning football teams.

Brett Favre led the Minnesota Vikings to a convincing 34-3 win over the Dallas Cowboys with four touchdown passes — and even drew some heat for a late touchdown pass when the game was all but over. Clearly, Favre was pretty jazzed with the win, as he demonstrated with his own rendition of “Pants on the Ground”:

Favre, who’s no spring chicken himself at 40 years old, may not have much of a future as a singer, but he’s one of the most inspirational players in the NFL. He not only became the first 40-year-old quarterback in NFL history to win a playoff game, but he’s also helped lead the Vikings to their first NFC Championship game since the 2000 season. And don’t put it past him to win his second Super Bowl — and the first for the Vikings in their history.
