When we think of New Year’s resolutions, we typically think of negative things. What can we fix about ourselves? And of course, why don’t I go to the gym more often? That’s why we’re loving these celeb resolutions that put a positive spin on change and renewal in a brand new year.
Miley Cyrus — After a tumultuous year, the teen queen is ready to focus on others in 2011. “I want to make this the year that I go out and do what I’m here to do, and that’s to help people and make people happy,” Cyrus tells USA Today.
Cee-Lo Green — The rapper has pledged to give up meat in 2011 so that he can live long enough to see his grandson grow up. “My family is full of vegans so it made sense,” Green told Tonic at the Duracell Mobile Smart Power Lab this week. “I know how hard it is going to be because I watch them do it.”
Oprah Winfrey — The talk show queen tells the Wall Street Journal she wants to journal more. She’ll have plenty to write about once OWN (the Oprah Winfrey Network) launches tomorrow. “I’m writing about what I could have done better, and how could I have improved what I was doing before,” she says. “It’s been my therapy for myself. You get to see who you were and who you’ve become, and actually whether you have improved.”
Sherri Shepherd — The View host wants to have a more positive outlook in 2011. “I want to keep everything in perspective about what is important in life,” she says. “I want to live and I want to be present and enjoy each moment as it comes.”
Ann Curry — The Today Show news anchor tells USA Today that she simply wants to “be a better human being.”
Josh Groban — The musician wants to try to have a little more fun. “I would like to enjoy celebrations more,” Groban tells People.
Cloris Leachman — This lady has the stamina of the Energizer Bunny, so her resolution naturally cracks us up. The 84-year-old tells the Wall Street Journal that she wants to “have a baby and get married. Sing on American Idol. Get my driver’s license back and get my knee working properly after replacement last year.”
