We thought this was a little crazy when we first heard it too, but it looks like Charlie Sheen might actually be planning a humanitarian mission to Haiti with Sean Penn.
Early last week, during one of his many raves and rants, Sheen said he wanted to travel to Haiti to focus some of the crazy media attention he has been getting on a cause that could use some support. Most folks blew off his comments, lumping them in with talk of “trolls,” “warlocks” and “Adonis DNA.”
But Penn, who has been a steadfast presence on the ground in the devastated country since the 2010 earthquake with his organization J/P HRO, says he welcomes his longtime friend’s help if Sheen wants to give it.
“I think his energies, intelligence and passion could be both of service and servicing to him, as it is to all who are touched by the struggle of the Haitian people,” Penn told US Weekly on Friday. “Charlie is one of the very few public people who cannot be accused of using the media to his own benefit.”
Oh, to be a fly on the wall for that trip. No word on whether’s Sheen’s goddesses will also be making the trip, whether he will invite the news media along or just film his own episodes of his webcast, “Sheen’s Korner,” whilst on the ground. At the end of the day, if it helps Haitians, the country will welcome Sheen’s tiger blood with open arms.
