Christina Hendricks is Ranked ‘Hottest Woman’
Christina Hendricks who plays the sireny Joan Holloway in the TV series Mad Men was ranked by men’s magazine Esquire as the hottest woman ever. She beat out big shot models such as Victoria Secret’s Adriana Lima and Transformers star Megan Fox. Hendricks isn’t the skinniest little thing, so it makes you wonder: Are curvaceous body types being appreciated again? Her curves — or any body-type for that matter — are not a trend. Hopefully this will inspire a wide-range, long-term celebration of all beautiful and sexy body types.
This isn’t the first time Hendricks has appeared on a ballot though. You had the chance to vote on the dress she should wear to the SAG Awards on January 23. For every vote $50,000 was donated from Degree Women Utra Clear Make a Statement in Red campaign to Clothes off my Back to support varies children’s charities.
Mel Gibson’s Baby’s Mama Plays for Charity
Mel Gibson and Russian girlfriend, singer/pianist Oksana Grigorieva, ended their relationship earlier this month after being together for three years. They split up because they were “drifting apart” but will continue to be friends and still plan to raise their daughter together, said a close mutual friend. In the meantime, Grigorieva will be performing in a few weeks at a charity concert in Moscow to raise money for those who have suffered from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. The nuclear accident happened 24 years ago this month on Apr. 26, 1986 and due to the radioactivity, many people are still suffering from the radiation poisoning. She hopes to raise enough money to pay for surgeries for children born in that area. Already she has funded 50 heart and leukemia treatments in Russian and surrounding countries.
Out of the Gutter: Kathy Griffin
Kathy Griffin is a bit kooky, that’s for sure. She’s known to push the boundaries, and most likely do and say things that are slightly, if not very, inappropriate, but that is why we love her. Like all people who test the waters and stir up controversy, you either love her, hate her or both. When she’s not making fun of celebrities in her stand up, she can be found standing up for good causes. Griffin is very outspoken when it comes to same-sex marriage, and is currently running a Smear Campaign to raise awareness for women’s health.
To make her point, she marries her sense of humor with her desire to make a change, and gets a public pap smear to show women how easy it is to get tested for cervical cancer. This will air on her new reality show, My Life on the D-List. Below her gyno chair she sits in to receive her pap, there is a sign that reads, “Say Suck it to Cancer”. Griffin really does have a way with words.
Cute Couple of the Day
Colombian musicians Shakira and Juanes, teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to make a hit single to be releasing in the beginning of May called Gracias a la Vida. The song will hopefully bring aid to the victims of the Chilean Earthquake.
