Buy now…wear later!

By Sebastian Clayton – August 6, 2008 (TNN) I read in a report that while most day to day necessities are going up in price due to the recession and rising costs, clothing is still holding out and it is still a good time to buy. With it being midsummer, I did go out over the weekend and started to look for autumn clothes.  While our prices here in England have increased dramatically over the past year — as they have in the rest of the developed world — there are still good buys.  With higher prices for petrol (British Gas just raised prices last week by 35%), food and electricity, it seems that clothing does seem to be holding it’s own – for now anyway . I did buy some items as I expect prices to increase at some stage and was so pleased that I had beaten the trap of escalating prices, even if some of the items (including a very interesting knitted cardigan – I think it might have to be a Christmas pressy) would not have been my first choice. Clothing is sure to be affected by fuel increases, banks, and the general downturn in spending – so grab new duds while you can. You will also see that our Tonic T-Shirts are still only $45 and also do alot more than just make you look great. Have you noticed the prices in your area going up for clothes? Photo by Chad Fox
