For parents looking to keep the mystery and magic of Easter alive for their kids (the candy-filled Easter basket variety, that is) there’s now a handy Easter Bunny tracker, just like the Santa tracker we told you about at Christmas.
This one is an app, however, brought to you by the folks at Talusmedia. For 99 cents, parents can keep their kids from asking them, “is Easter here yet?” for the millionth time. The app tracks the Easter Bunny and friends on Easter Island as they prepare for Easter (who knew Easter Island was the North Pole of Easter?)
But before you start groaning at spending yet another 99 cents on a time-limited app, consider this: several times a day, you’ll get new blogs with graphics and audio stories about friendship, pride and forgiveness. An interactive globe and radar map help track the Bunny’s progress as he hops around the Globe. Using your iPhone’s GPS, the app will be able to determine just when the Bunny will hit up your pad. And, as if that wasn’t enough, you (and your children, presumably) will be able to tell the Easter Bunny to “hop to it” via text.
Of course, the online Santa Tracker had a little more cred, since it was brought to you through a collaboration between Google and NORAD, the Northern American Aerospace Defense Command, but still, at least someone has come up with an equivalent for Easter. After all, there are a lot of kids out there anxiously awaiting Easter morning when they will wake up to a basket full of candy.
There are plenty of other iPhone apps to keep the kids entertained this weekend, too. The folks at TouchReviews.net have a roundup of 20 such apps.
Then again, you could always find an Easter egg hunt near you. That is, if you can pry yourself away from technology for a few minutes.
Yeah, we didn’t think so.
