Ed Stafford, 34, a former captain of the British army will complete a 4,200 mile journey down the Amazon River today, Aug. 9, 2010. He began his walk on April 2, 2008 at the source in Peru and will finish strong at Maruda Beach in Brazil.
What’s the reasoning behind this? Stafford said he did it because no one else has done it before and he hopes to raise awareness of deforestation.
