Google Launches a Very Big eBookstore

google-ebooks.jpgGoogle‘s eBookstore is open for business!

While the concept isn’t new (Google hopes to compete with powerhouses Amazon.com and Apple), the fact that Google’s doin’ it means that everyone, including your grandma, will be buzzing about it.

Google’s eBooks work on Android, the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Nook and Sony e-readers and any computer with Internet access so that you can read three million titles from almost 4,000 publishers, many for free.

Scared to go down the virtual book route for fear that it may eventually lead to the extinction of books altogether?

For sure, on one hand you lose the authentic smell and touch of paper pages and the freedom to scribble notes as you go and pass it on to a friend with a special message inside. On the other hand, eBooks can reduce deforestation and allow you to conveniently travel with access to literally millions of books without the burden of having to carry them with you. There’s gotta be a healthy balance between getting on board with modern technology and not neglecting your affection for the real deal.

You can check out Google’s new eBookstore here and easily navigate by new arrivals, top rated or category. Find out how it works in the video below.
